So why didn’t I turn in my phone for extra credit? Well, there are lots of different reasons and it pretty much comes down to the fact that I rely on my phone too much. I really use my phone for everything. I have all of my music on my phone for when I workout. I use the timer on my phone for in between sets. I have two jobs on campus and I am apart of this app called groupme where we can all communicate through the app and let each other know when we can’t make it to work or if someone can cover for us. I need to have my phone on me. I don’t know what i would do working out with no music. Also, I have a lot of reminders on my phone so I don’t forget to do stuff like do this homework assignment or go to work from 7:30-10:30pm. A big reason I did not turn in my phone was due to my connection to my phone. Our phone isn’t just our phone. It’s our digital security blanket – and it goes everywhere with us. Practically our entire lives are in those little devices, so it’s no wonder we go a little crazy when we’re apart from them. I think another big reason I did’t turn in my phone was due to the end of the semester coming up. I am starting to get very stressed and nervous for finals. I knew that if I did not have my phone on me it would just cause me more stress and anxiety which is definitely not what I need right now. These next few weeks are crunch time for all of us and I did not want to be limited for my communication.
